Theatrical Shoes

In the grand tradition of our founder, Salvatore Capezio, we continue to create hand-crafted historical and theatrical shoes for an eclectic mix of performers. We have graced the feet of countless casts, including those of Broadway's: The Color Purple, The Lion King, 42nd Street, Thoroughly Modern Millie, The Phantom of the Opera, Mamma Mia, Chicago, Movin Out, The Producers, My Fair Lady and many, many more. Capezio® footwear is worn by The Radio City Rockettes and Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus.

Countless production companies have relied on Capezio®/Ballet Makers, Inc.'s quality, service and dependability to ensure their success.  We are proud to lead the industry in Special Make-Up (SMU) theatrical shoes. Special Make-Up shoes are designed and crafted precisely to the customer's specifications. All of our in-stock shoes can be altered to meet custom requirements. We also offer to copy a sample shoe or illustration the customer provides.

Expect six to eight weeks for delivery.

SMU shoes cannot be returned or cancelled.

C O L O R S

Any color, print, finish of leather, or satin is available for custom order. Some items in this catalog have stock colors as noted. Shoes can also be made in satin or leather provided by the customer. All shoes feature leather backed uppers. All shoes may be ordered with any custom color combination.

S I Z E / W I D T H

Shoes may be ordered in larger sizes and widths than stock shoes. Pairs of mismated sizes and 1/4 sizes may be ordered.

U P P E R  PAT T E R N  A N D T R I M

Shoes may be ordered with stock or custom designed patterns. Trim may be added where and in any design requested.

H E E L  S T Y L E / H E I G H T

Heel height and style may be changed on any pattern.

S O L E

Most Capezio® stock theatrical shoes feature a hand-cut leather sole. Capezio® offers double and triple sole build-ups, WW soles, and welted or double stitched soles with edges extending to specifications. Ballroom soles (chrome leather) are also available. Rubber soles may be added.

A D D E D S E R V I C E S

Heels may be requested as full-breasted for more support. The heels may be braced on either the inside or outside for more heel strength. Rubber lifts may be used instead of leather for the final lift of heels. The grommets on eyelets may be hidden, or you may order metal eyelets on oxfords. Taps may be ordered and attached by the factory. Zippers may be added to boots, and plackets may be requested to cover the zippers. Cuffs are available on all boots. Leather tips may be added.
